This year marks the Fifth Annual Fluent Charity Golf Outing, benefiting Services for the UnderServed.
About the Charity
Founded in 1978, Services for the UnderServed (SUS) is a nonprofit human services agency with a reputation for supporting veterans and individuals and families faced with a wide range of challenges–mental illness, intellectual/developmental disabilities, and HIV/AIDS, often compounded by histories of homelessness, substance abuse, poverty and unemployment.
Their uniqueness lies in the commitment to providing tailored services to people with complex needs, while meeting their personal goals.
Event Details
-The day's activities will begin with a "Meet and Greet" BBQ lunch during registration. Â
-Each foursome will be assigned to a particular hole for a prompt shotgun tee-time start of 1:30pm
-Teams will compete to the best of their ability to score as low as possible in a "Scramble" format. Â The team with the lowest group score will be deemed winner.
-Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the "Longest Drive" and "Closest-to-Pin" contests. Â
-The event will conclude with a buffet-style dinner and awards reception.
Directions
From Staten Island, New Jersey:
Take the New Jersey Turnpike (i-95) to Goethals Bridge. Cross bridge and stay on the Staten Island Expressway (i-278 E) to the Verrazano Bridge. Cross bridge and stay in the right lane. Take 92nd St exit. Turn right on 92nd St. Turn left at 7th Avenue. Make a right into the main entrance on 88th St and 7th avenue. The course is on the corner of 7th Avenue and 86th St.
From Long Island:
Take the Belt Parkway West to Exit 4 (14th Avenue/Bay 8th St). Take Bay 8th St to Cropsey Avenue. Turn left at Cropsey Avenue. Turn left at Poly Place and take it around the golf course onto 7th Avenue. Make a right intot he main entrance on 88th Street and 7th Avenue. The course is on the corner of 7th avenue and 86th Street.
From Manhattan:
Take the Brooklyn battery Tunnel, Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge or Williamsburg Bridge to the Brooklyn Queens Expressway West (i-278 W). Take 86th Street Exit. Make a left at the light onto 86th St. Make a right on 7th Avenue and a left into the main entrance on 88th Street and 7th Avenue. The course is on the corner of 7th Avenue and 86th Street.
